Memorial Day Weekend Road Closure Update

Due to the many utility-related issues we have found beneath the road across from the Town Center construction site, we will not be able to reopen Lula Lake in advance of the Memorial Day weekend. We do not have a date for reopening yet, but it should be open before the end of June. DBS (responsible for the Town Center build site), Tennessee American Water, and SEC (Atlanta Gas contractor) are working diligently to coordinate the completion of the infrastructure rebuild that will allow us to reopen Lula Lake Road. Starting next week our website will have a scrolling banner on the home page that provides the most current update. We will continue to send e-mails out as new information is available. We do need support from residents to not go around barricades or step over caution tape to view the progress on Lula Lake. Our team is working to expose both gas and water lines for tapping and re-valving and would hate to have to call in Kevin Leckenby and fellow spelunkers to extract a resident from one of the dig sites. Maybe in time, we will find humor regarding the closure of Lula Lake Road, but right now that can wait as we understand the seriousness of the inconvenience for residents, business partners, and guests. That said, I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend.
