Groundhog Day 2023
Our Top Hat adorned dynamic duo, Mayor Bennett and Vice Mayor Willingham, along with Colonel Smartt, and Rocky the Elf rocked the Groundhog day event at the Fairyland Elementary School.
Rocky the Elf through clear gesticulations provided his prognostication, but unfortunately Colonel Smartt was slow on the uptake and the final proclamation was more foggy as to the hope for an early spring. Kim Jackson, our Hollywood executive producer, and master of ceremony said it best,
“Whether the weather is cold or whether the weather is hot, We’ll weather the weather whatever the weather whether we like it or not.” Colonel Smartt, in a lucid moment captured the sentiment perfectly when stating, “Whether there is six more weeks of winter or not, Lookout Mountain is our mountain home for all seasons.”
Next year, our Groundhog Day event will be held at our Mountain Hall and open to our extended mountain community.
We are thankful for the partnership with Rock City and the amount of time and creative energy that was put into this event. Until next year…
